Grand Prix New York Hosts Northern Westchester Hospital Fundraising Gala
Mount Kisco, N.Y. (PRWEB) June 11, 2008 -- Grand Prix New York Racing, LLC (GPNY) recently entertained 800 guests with cocktails, dinner, dancing, and indoor racing as part of Northern Westchester Hospital's (NWH) annual fundraising gala. For the event, GPNY donated its 120,000 square feet of space for the gala and converted one of its two tracks into a spacious ballroom with 80 tables, a dance floor, and a stage replete with high-tech audio, visual, and lighting effects. The other track was kept operational for a competition, where guests raced to win a dream car for a week.
"We are proud and pleased that NWH chose us for their fundraising ball, which was one of our first major events since opening our doors," said Sy Aryeh, managing member of GPNY. "We are honored that 800 guests were able to see for themselves just how adaptable GPNY is when it comes to hosting parties, corporate events, fundraisers, and black-tie functions as big as this. We have the resources and space to meet any large organizations' needs."
GPNY, which officially opened to the general public on February 12, is a new indoor kart racing, entertainment, and corporate conferencing center. It is the largest indoor facility of its kind in the country. GPNY boasts two 24-foot-wide, quarter-mile-long racetracks that are linkable to create one half-mile-long track for special league and endurance races. Prior to the evening's cocktail reception and dinner dance, guests were able to race in championship-caliber Sodi RX7 gasoline-powered karts that reach top speeds of 40 mph.
"Converting the racetrack to an elegant ballroom was astounding to watch and outstanding to work in," said Joe Guilderson, president of Corporate Audio Visual Services in Elmsford, NY. "Our specialty is providing cutting-edge audio, video, lighting, and staging solutions for events like this. We engineered the audio for the NWH Ball and I can say, definitively, that GPNY is one of the most unique and flexible large-scale event spaces in Westchester County."
Presenters and VIPs on hand at the Ball included former Presidential Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, Northern Westchester Hospital Chief of Medicine Martin Saltzman, MD and former Chairman of the hospital Board Frank Brosens, as well as Joel Seligman -- the Hospital's President and CEO.
"The whole day was a tremendous success and so much fun," said Hatsy Vallar, Chair of the Northern Westchester Hospital Foundation. "It was a unique venue. I had a lot of comments from people about how much fun they had and how cool the place is. The racing made it so exciting."
The proceeds from the Ball, estimated at $1.6 million, will help support NWH's state-of-the-art surgical services.
